What is gold vermeil?
A 2.5-micron layer of 18k gold over 925 sterling silver. It is not solid gold: it wears like gold for years but can be replated, which solid gold never needs. We replate free within 12 months.
Will it tarnish?
Sterling silver patinas and vermeil darkens where it rubs; both polish back with the cloth in the box. Keep perfume, chlorine and hairspray off it and it stays bright far longer.
Can I wear it in the shower?
A shower is fine occasionally; a daily swim in a chlorinated pool is not. Take vermeil off for the pool and put it on after perfume.
Do you replate?
Yes — free within 12 months of purchase, at cost afterwards. Email a photo and we will quote it.
Sizing
How does an 18-inch chain sit?
Just below the collarbone on most necks — above a crew-neck collar, below a shirt collar. 16 inches sits at the base of the throat; 32 inches doubles.
How big are the hoops?
25 mm across, 3 mm tube — large enough to read as a hoop, small enough to sleep in.
Are the earrings heavy?
Hoop 1.9 g, drop 3.4 g, stud 0.9 g each. The drop is the heaviest piece in the range.
Orders & returns
When will my order ship?
Within 1–2 business days, from San Diego, California. Orders placed after 2pm Pacific Time start the next business day.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping in the contiguous US is free on orders over $75, otherwise $7. Expedited is $14. Alaska and Hawaii are $12 standard and $22 expedited.
Can I return earrings?
Only if they are unworn. For hygiene reasons a worn earring cannot be resold, so it cannot be returned — even within 30 days.
